Woolworth Department Store Adverising Letters
Woolworth's was a global retailer, famous for its affordable goods and innovations in mass merchandising. It was a large department store in Canada but the American chain ultimately faded, selling its Canadian stores to Walmart in 1994 and closing U.S. locations by the end of the 90’s. These gold metal letters came from one of the original department stores in Vancouver, British Columbia when it closed in the 90’s. Likely originally from the 1920's, the cast iron letter’s were painted in a gold leaf tone.
